Ash-Shams 91:1
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ وَٱلشَّمْسِ وَضُحَىٰهَا1
By the sun and its brightness
Wash shamsi wa duhaa haa
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Ash-Shams 91:2
وَٱلْقَمَرِ إِذَا تَلَىٰهَا2
And [by] the moon when it follows it
Wal qamari izaa talaa haa
Ash-Shams 91:3
وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا جَلَّىٰهَا3
And [by] the day when it displays it
Wannahaari izaa jallaa haa
Ash-Shams 91:4
وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰهَا4
And [by] the night when it covers it
Wallaili izaa yaghshaa haa
Ash-Shams 91:5
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَمَا بَنَىٰهَا5
And [by] the sky and He who constructed it
Wassamaaa'i wa maa banaahaa
Ash-Shams 91:6
وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا طَحَىٰهَا6
And [by] the earth and He who spread it
Wal ardi wa maa tahaahaa
Ash-Shams 91:7
وَنَفْسٍۢ وَمَا سَوَّىٰهَا7
And [by] the soul and He who proportioned it
Wa nafsinw wa maa sawwaahaa
Ash-Shams 91:8
فَأَلْهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقْوَىٰهَا8
And inspired it [with discernment of] its wickedness and its righteousness,
Fa-alhamahaa fujoorahaa wa taqwaahaa
Ash-Shams 91:9
قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن زَكَّىٰهَا9
He has succeeded who purifies it,
Qad aflaha man zakkaahaa
Ash-Shams 91:10
وَقَدْ خَابَ مَن دَسَّىٰهَا10
And he has failed who instills it [with corruption].
Wa qad khaaba man dassaahaa
Ash-Shams 91:11
كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِطَغْوَىٰهَآ11
Thamud denied [their prophet] by reason of their transgression,
Kazzabat Samoodu bi taghwaahaaa
Ash-Shams 91:12
إِذِ ٱنۢبَعَثَ أَشْقَىٰهَا12
When the most wretched of them was sent forth.
Izim ba'asa ashqaahaa
Ash-Shams 91:13
فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ نَاقَةَ ٱللَّهِ وَسُقْيَٰهَا13
And the messenger of Allah [Salih] said to them, "[Do not harm] the she-camel of Allah or [prevent her from] her drink."
Faqaala lahum Rasoolul laahi naaqatal laahi wa suqiyaahaa
Ash-Shams 91:14
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَعَقَرُوهَا فَدَمْدَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّهُم بِذَنۢبِهِمْ فَسَوَّىٰهَا14
But they denied him and hamstrung her. So their Lord brought down upon them destruction for their sin and made it equal [upon all of them].
Fakazzaboohu fa'aqaroohaa fadamdama 'alaihim Rabbuhum bizambihim fasaw waahaa
Ash-Shams 91:15
وَلَا يَخَافُ عُقْبَٰهَا15
And He does not fear the consequence thereof.
Wa laa yakhaafu'uqbaahaa
